Owners and operators, not fund managers.

Purple Thistle Family Office is a UK based investment house that buys, invests in and merges established private companies across the United Kingdom and Ireland. The capital is our own, decisions are made in the room, and the businesses we back become part of a group that shares resource, strategy and commercial reach.

Every transaction is agreed privately with the owner. There is no auction, no marketing of the business to the wider market, and no template: each deal is structured around the people who built the company.

What we do

Three ways we work with a business.

Deals are funded through a combination of debt, equity and deferred payments, in whatever proportion suits the owner and the business. After completion, efficiencies improve through group resource, and sales and marketing gain the strategy and firepower of a wider group.

Acquire

We buy established, profitable companies outright, or take a majority holding, from owners planning a considered exit or the next chapter.

Invest

We put capital and group resource behind businesses with a strong management team already in place and clear room to scale.

Merge

We bring complementary companies together where a shared group makes each of them stronger than it was alone.

Investment criteria

What we look for.

Established companies with a proven model, recurring revenue, healthy margins and a management team that intends to stay. Sales or marketing led businesses, where added commercial firepower changes the numbers, are of particular interest.
